Pt. Ravi Shankar, Daughter
To Perform In Chennai
CHENNAI, February 29: Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and
his daughter Anoushka are set to appear together on stage here
to give a concert to raise funds for charity. The concert will
take place on March 1, 2008.
The event is being organized by Banyan, a non-profit organization
engaged in the cause of providing shelter for destitute and
mentally-ill women. This is, perhaps, a rare occasion where
the rasikas in Chennai will have a chance to listen to the recital
of the famous father-daughter duo. Anoushka the sitarist is
solely trained by her legendry father Ravi Shankar.
