Chitravina Ravikiran In U.S. On Concert Tour

CHENNAI, March 29: Chitravina N. Ravikiran, the only Indian musician picked by the National Geographic Channel in their programme featuring geniuses from various parts of the world, is currently in the U.S.

He is slated to travel further to various parts of America on a whirlwind `concert tour’. His U.S. tour is expected to last till the first week of May. During most part of his U.S. tour, Ravikiran will be accompanied on the violin by Akkarai Shubhalakshmi.

His tour schedule is given below:

March 30: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi and Prof. Trichy Sankaran for MITHAS, Boston.

April 5: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi and Akshay Anantapadmanabhan for Pallavi, Albany.

April 11: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi and Ram Sriram at Tulsa, Oklahoma.

April 13: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi at Rajarajeshwari Temple, Rochester.

April 19: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi and Trichy Sankaran for Tyagaraja Festival, Toronto.

April 26: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi and Lakshman (mrdangam) at Memphis.

May 3: Chitravina recital with Kesav Raghavan and Anand Anantakrishnan at Stanford University, CA.

May 4: Chitravina recital with Akkarai Shubhalakshmi at San Antonio.

Ravikiran is set to tour the U.S. again in July-August and also during October-November. He is also expected to perform in a major festival in Amsterdam on November 16, 2008.
