A Melakartha Raga Calendar From L&T
CHENNAI, April 15: A Panchangam calendar on 72 melakartha ragas
was launched by construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T)
in association with the Music Academy.
Veteran musician and artiste S. Rajam has given explanations
and illustrations on the 72 melakartha raga scheme and their
corresponding 12 chakras. The calendar contains interesting
interpretations of the mela raga scheme, in each month of the
year. Heaping praise on Rajam, President (Construction) of L&T
K.V. Rangaswami said that his (Rajam’s) works for the
calendars brought out earlier were also amazing, with themes
such as Trinity and dasavatharam.
President of Music Academy N.Murali was also present at the
launch function and lauded Rajam for his creativity. The calendar
release function was a confluence of very many good things.
Later on, there was a demonstration by musicologist S.A.K. Durga.
