T. N. Seshagopalan & Harikatha
CHENNAI, April 18: He is a multi-faceted personality. He is
a top-ranking vocalist in the field of Carnatic music. He is
also a good veena player. He even gives veena concerts. Of late,
he is proving a good exponent of harikatha. Veteran musician
T. N. Seshagopalan is now a big hit in the `harikatha circuit.
Not surprisingly, Hamsadhwani, as part of its ongoing 18th annual
music and drama festival dedicated to the memory of founder
secretary R. Ramachandran, has decided to organize a five-day
“Valmiki Ramayanam” Harikatha series by T.N. Seshagopalan
to mark Sri Rama Navami.
The programme will commence at 6.15 pm on Wednesday, April 23,
and conclude with Mahapattabishekam on April 27.
On this occasion, the Hamsadhwani Ramachandran Sathabishekam
Endowment awards will be presented to the best junior musicians
of the year 2007-08. The programme will commence at 6.15 pm
daily and will be held at Youth Hostel, Indira Nagar, Adyar.
