Music fest in Tiruvarur
CHENNAI, May 2: The 24th annual Carnatic music festival of Tiruvarur-based
Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peeta Carnataka Sangeetha Seva Trust will
commence on May 5. The festival will last till May 11.
Along with the annual festival, the Trust will also celebrate
the jayanthi of the Carnatic Music Trinity.
The Jayanthi of Syama Sastri falls on May 6 and that of Tyagaraja
on May 11.
The Director of Kumbakonam-based City Union Bank, Mr. T.S. Venkatasubban,
will preside over the inaugural function on May 6. The venue
of the music festival will be Muthuswami Dikshitar Auditorium,
West Vadambokki Street, Thiruvarur.
