Manickam Yogeswaran

“He is a musical scientist. He researches endlessly to produce deeper meaning of music. He does this whenever he performs, teaches and lectures.” That is Manickam Yogeswaran, Co-ordinator (south-Asia music), Global Music Academy, Berlin, on maestro T.V. Gopalakrishnan (popularly known as TVG). Describing him as an “inclusive musician,” Yogeswaran paid rich tribute to his guru TVG who is entering the `90s on June 11. “He is someone who is with you all the time whether you are with him leaning or you are away,” he adds. A unique thing about guru TVG is that “he doesn’t judge a person but accepts the talent”. This trait of TVG has endeared him to people like Yogeswaran and others.  His depth of knowledge, sincerity, integrity and accessibility make him a lovable person, avers Yogeswaran. The teaching methods of TVG are going to affect music learning for a long time to come, he goes on to add.
