I like the website. The webpage has a very good look and feel
about it. However, I feel that in the "Raga" pages,
when you write about a Bilahari or Bindumalini for example,
a minute's sound byte on the ragam and a popular song will be
very educative. Since you have these pages, I would imagine
that you are focused also on beginners.
Now for some straight talk, the two personalities written about
is the usual stuff. It will be useful if you talk to the persons
featured and give their views on their own music. That will
bring out their approach to the selection of songs and the like.

A very good and informative site. It was nice to read articles
on the all-time greats like Lalgudi, Mali etc.

Carnatic Darbar is a pleasant and welcome change. I find the
Web site to be extremely user-friendly to a classical music-challenged
bloke like me. I have added Carnatic Darbar to the list of Favorites
on my computer.
I hope you will keep the Web site as user-friendly and easy-to-understand
as it is now.
Balaji Ramanathan - India
Recently, I happened to visit the website www.carnaticdarbar.com.
I would like to express my appreciation for this project and
look forward to regular visits in the future. I was happy to
see an article on my father Shri M.D. Ramanathan in the legends’
section. The purpose of this mail is also to bring to your attention
an error in the article written about my father. My grandfather's
name is Shri. Devesa Bhagavathar and not Desiga Bhagavathar
as mentioned. Please make the necessary correction at the earliest.
Also, if possible please make a reference to the source of this
article.

It is really wonderful to start with a lot of `olds’ and
`news’. It is nice to see flute Mali with Raghu, Ravi
and Sundaram and also some good stories.

Good site to promote Carnatic music. The site is compact and
easily readable. Congrats
Mohan Ayyar - Sydney, Australia
Interesting, well-written articles. Hope to see more content
added soon!
Kalpana - Chennai, India
Congratulations on hosting a very good site of this genre -
your articles are all very interesting and well written. I have
noticed especially that your news page is updated everyday,
which is unfortunately not the case in most carnatic music websites.
Keep up the great work and my best wishes to you and your team
for making yours the best carnatic music website.
Tushad Talati - Bangalore, India
I think its really well done and the striking thing is it shows
me the deep passion you and the others have for this music form.
Very commendable.I love the simple style and design of the site
incidentally.
Some thoughts you could consider.
- Allow more interactivity. You could have a forum or thread
so people can leave comments and opinions on articles, reviews,
performances etc.
- Why dont you allow a space for advertisers? Music shops
in Chennai, shops selling instruments etc.
- Need a listing or upcoming schedule of concerts, album releases,
related events etc.
- A section on interesting happenings from around the country
(not just Chennai)
These are just my small suggestions. Great idea. All the best.

lovers

Congratulations on this initiative. Those responsible for the
design of the site need to be commended. They have done a very
good job. Good fonts, too. A very pleasing home page, good use
of colours and pictures. I read the interviews, tit-bits etc.
Good start. Enjoyed it. Look forward to more.
Ghatam Suresh - Chennai, India
Very colourful and bright site at the first sight. Quite thoughtful to have a "ghatam" icon to catch and store guests' comments! May this site grow in a huge way, giving invaluable insight to our divine music and bridge the rasikas and musicians in the best constructive way. All the very best to the dedicated team.
Radhika Raghuraman - Plainsboro, USA

use of colour! Enjoyed reading it.... Looking forward to seeing
current things to read.
Sujatha Prakash - Princeton, USA
Great site! Not being hugely involved in music but still a music
lover, I felt awed like a poor man in a five-star jewelery store.
Ramani Sharma - Mumbai, India
It is a great one. I was very happy to see so many articles
of Bombay Jayashri and also news about my guru Smt. T.R. Balamani.
