Pt. Ravi Shankar, Daughter To Perform In Chennai
29 Feb 2008: Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka are set to appear together on stage here to give a concert to raise funds for charity. The concert will take place on March 1, 2008.

Musicologist Sulochana Pattabhiraman passes away
27 Feb 2008: Eminent musicologist and Carnatic musician Sulochana Pattabhiraman died here today after a brief illness. She was 76. She was a recipient of the Tamil Nadu Government’s Kalaimamani award. She had also been conferred the title Sangeeta Kala Acharya by Music Academy.

Tyagaraja Festival Is On In Delhi
24 Feb 2008: The four-day Tyagaraja music festival of Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Sabha began in New Delhi on February 23. The festival is organized in association with the Andhra Pradesh Bhawan. The festival will last till February 26. Eminent Carnatic musicians from Chennai are giving vocal recitals, comprising mainly Tyagaraja kritis.

Mandolin Shrinivas to perform for Shakti Foundation
14 Feb 2008: Mandolin masters U. Shrinivas and U. Rajesh will share stage with Loy Mendonza of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy fame (keyboard) and Pete Lockett of London (percussion) to give a concert for Shakti Foundations' annual fund raiser 'Tamoghna'.
