Music Academy to hold concerts to celebrate composers' day
30 Aug 2008: The December music season may be few months away. But the Music Academy is busy holding concerts. It has lined up a few concerts in September to celebrate the composers’ day.

Sangeetha Sreshta to be conferred on Bombay sisters
30 Aug 2008: Sangeet vidwath sadas and a series of concerts will be jointly organized by Sadguru Gnanananda Sangeeth Sammelan and Narada Gana Sabha Trust from September 1 to 4 at the Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall.

20 Aug 2008: The International Society for Laya Awareness, an organization promoted by ghatam artiste V. Suresh, has announced the winners of the maiden Isai Velvi 2008 concert contest. It has picked three best groups.

Sangeetya Aasthana to hold 3V concert on Sept. 21
20 Aug 2008: Sangeetya Aasthana was established in 2004 to promote Indian classical music, both Karnatic and Hindusthani music as well as dance. The objective is to provide a platform for upcoming and veteran artistes to showcase their talents.

V.B. Bhavna to sing at Sunday Kutcheri in the Park
01 Aug 2008: As part of the mike-less Sundaram Finance Sunday Kutcheri in the Park, V.B. Bhavna, a class nine student from SBOA School, Anna Nagar, will present a Carnatic music performance at the Nageswara Rao Park at Mylapore this Sunday (August 3, 2008) between 6.30 a.m. and 7.30 a.m.
