Kshetra Sangeetham on Srirangam to be held on May 9
28 Apr 2010: The third episode of Kshetra Sangeetham series will be held at 5.30 p.m. on May 9 (Sunday). It will be held at the Mini Hall of Narada Gana Sabha here. The third episode will be on Srirangam.
Prince Rama Varma set on a 2-month concert tour to U.S.
27 Apr 2010: Prince Rama Varma is a member of the Royal Family of Travancore. He is a direct descendant of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma and Raja Ravi Varma. Born on the 13th of August 1968, Prince Varma fell in love with music, in general, and with the music of M.D. Ramanathan (in the Carnatic style) and Kishore Kumar (In the universal style), in particular, when he was still a toddler.
Rasika Ranjana Sabha of Tiruchi to hold music competition
25 Apr 2010: Rasika Ranjana Sabha of Tiruchi will conduct Carnatic music competitions during June. The competiton wil be held in vocal, violin, veena and mridangam categories for sub-junior, junior and senior groups.

This year's festival also saw the celebration of the centenary year of the late maestro G.N.Balasubramaniam.

Shruti at the Chess Square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore on Sunday morning to watch the class IX student of Modern Senior Secondary School, Nanganallur present a mikeless kutcheri, as part of the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the Park organised by Sundaram Finance.
