CHENNAI, January 8: The Art of Living, a not-for-profit educational and humanitarian organization, in association with MARG Brindavan, the real estate arm of one of India’s fastest growing infrastructure organization, will present ‘NAADHA VAIBHAVAM’, a historic event that will bring together 5,000 Carnatic musicians from all over Tamil Nadu on a single stage.

This first-of-its kind event is being held on January 30, 2011 (Sunday) at Shriram Gateway, GST Road, Perungalathur (Opposite the Railway Station) from 6:00 p.m. onwards.

Naadha Vaibhavam is a unique programme that has been conceived by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, The Art of Living foundation, to honour and showcase the rich musical tradition of Chennai. The objective of ‘Naadha Vaibhavam’ is to bring the nuances of classical music across all strata of society and to offer a deep spiritual experience that goes beyond entertainment and individual virtuosic display to tap the spiritual reserves in performer and listener.

The Art of Living has always recognized music as Sangita Yoga, a profound and potent way of combating aggression and violence, and promotes inner harmony and world peace. “Spirituality and music, together, can uplift people, get them out of depression and help them start a new life with enthusiasm. For a stress-free life, you have to embrace both these facets,” a release quoted Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as saying.

Commenting on Naadha Vaibhavam, Ms. Akhila Srinivasan, Tamil Nadu State President for the Art of Living and Managing Director of Shriram Life Insurance Co. Ltd., says: “In The Art of Living, we have always cherished promoting the deep rooted culture of our rich Indian Heritage. Naadha Vaibhavam is a musical evening that will be in our memories for a lifetime”.

Mr . G. R. K. Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, MARG Group, says, "It is our privilege to be a part of this January musical extravaganza, Naadha Vaibhavam. The incredible mix of music and rhythm of 5,000 musicians is sure to spell a thrilling experience to the gathering present. Art of Living, pioneering in the goodness of a disciplined and a yogic life, has offered a beautiful platform to the world of musicians and I am glad to be associated with them. Carnatic music has always been a rich source of music, with noted musicians hailing from South. At MARG, it has been our constant endeavor to promote the richness of music and art and we hope to nurture many more musical artists in the near future.”

In addition to MARG, many well known business institutions have come together to support this first of its kind event in association with The Art of Living, namely, Shriram Capital and Venture Lighting are Platinum co-sponsors; India Cements, Nalli, Larsen & Toubro, Chennai Silks as Gold co-sponsors and Apollo Hospitals as Silver co-sponsor.
