Over 100 school students to present mikeless kutcheri in the park
CHENNAI, January 6: Over 100 school children aged below 15 years will present mikeless kutcheri in the park at the chess square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore next week between 10th and 13th January, 2013.

This is being organised as part of the four-day Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013. No mikes and speakers will be used in the four-day kutcheri.

On Thursday (10 January) morning at 6.30 a.m., 15 students of Chettinad Vidyashram (Guru Bhuvaneswari Ramesh & A.Suganda) accompanied by Varun Narayana on the Mridangam and Sathya Rajesh on the Tabala will present a Group Kutcheri.

On 11th January at 630 a.m., there will be a group Kutcheri by 25 students of Chettinad Hari Shree
Vidyalayam (guru M. Kousalya) accompanied by R. Kishore on the Mridangam.

On 12th morning at 630 a.m., 15 students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Guru Annapurani) accompanied by V. Akash on the Mridangam and Sayee Rakshith on the Violin will present a Group Kutcheri.

On the final morning of January 13, over 50 students from DAV Matriculation Higher Secondary School (Guru Guhaprasath) accompanied by V. Suresh (Percussionist) will present a Kutcheri.

The idea behind the Kutcheri in the Park is to promote young musical talent aged below 15 years, and
to help them shed their inhibitions and give them the confidence to move up to the next level. Over 550 children have presented the mikeless Kutcheri at the Nageswara Rao Park. Sundaram Finance conducts audition to select the artistes.
