Pandit Raghunath Panigrahi is no more
CHENNAI, August 25: We regret to announce that Pandit Raghunath Panigrahi is no more. An eminent Indian classical singer and music director, Pandit Raghunath Panigrahi was instrumental in popularizing Jayadeva’s ‘Gita Govind’.

CHENNAI, July 29: The Music Academy has chosen senior vocalist Sudha Ragunathan for the prestigious Sangita Kalanidhi Award this year. The Natya Kala Acharya Award, instituted a couple of years ago, will go to Bharatanatyam exponent Chitra Visweswaran.

2 overseas students present mikeless Sunday Kutcheri
CHENNAI, July 10: As part of the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the Park organized by Sundaram Finance, two school students- one from Massachusetts, USA, and another from Dubai - presented a mikeless Kutcheri on the morning of Sunday last (July 7) at the Chess Square of the Nageswara Rao Park.
Kids enliven Yagnaraman fest
CHENNAI, July 10: The annual fest of Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, dedicated to late Yagnaraman, was inaugurated on June 29. The first performance was ‘Stories in Strings’, a collaborative effort by Anil Srinivasan on the Piano, Jayanthi Kumaresh on the Veena, K.V. Shekar on the Cello, Adithya on the Tabla, and Trichy Krishna on the Ghatam.
