Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha to honour Vijay Shiva with Sangeetha Kalasarathy title
CHENNAI, December 1: The 114the music festival of Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will get under way here on December 14. As usual, it will be held at Vidya Bharati, Beemasena Garden Road, Mylapore.

The festival will be inaugurated by Rangaramanuja Jeer (Emberumanar Jeer Swamigal). Alwarthirungari.

The Jeer will confer on vocalist Vijay Shiva the title `Sangeetha Kalasarathy'.

The Palghat Mani Iyer Centenary Award, instituted by Nithyashree Mahadevan, will be given to Guruvayur Shri Dorai. The Dwaram Venkataswami Naidu Award, instituted by Mohan Parasaran, will go to Parur Shri M.S. Anantharaman. Sirkazhi Dr. Siva Chidambaram will get the G. Ramanathan Award, instituted by Sathanur V. Parthasarathy. The MLV Award, instituted by Sudha Raghunathan, will go to K. Gayathri.

Vijay Shiva will give a concert for Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha on December 24.

Global fest: The Sabha is also a organizing a two-day global music festival. It will commence on January 3, 2015, and held at the aforesaid venue. The two-day festival is dedicated Mandlin maestro U. Shrinivas, who passed away recently. The two-day event will feature a Veena concert by Rajhesh Vaidhya (on January 3, 2015) and Mandolin recital by U. Rajesh (January 4, 2015). The festival will feature a host of artistes. And, the programmes will run through the day during the two day-festival.
