Lec-Dem on Music Appreciation
CHENNAI, November 30: Carnatic Music Rasikas are a group people who regularly attend Carnatic concerts. And, they are always keen to learn more about concerts in order to enjoy them better.

To help them in this regard, Mr. R. Thiagarajan of Shriram Group and Mr.R.T. Chari of TAG Group have initiated an education programme. As part of this ongoing exercise, a lec-dem on music appreciation will be held here on December 1 at the TAG Centre in Alwarpet. It will commence at 6.30 p.m. after High Tea.

Sriram Parasuram will be addressing the audience on what to look for in a classical music concert. He will also explain the role of a listener / rasika, and dwell on `kelvi gnanam.

Sriram Parasuram is both a Vocalist & Violinist of repute. He is well versed in both Hindutani and Carnatic music. He is one of the most sought after teachers for imparting music to students at several institutions such as The Music Academy and Kalakshetra, to name a few. Apart from his solo vocal and violin concerts, he has also given numerous Jugalbandi concerts along with his wife Smt. Anooradha Sriram. He has also presented several lecture demonstrations at various prestigious institutions, both at the national and international forums.
