Bombay Jayashri to lead homage concert to guru Lalgudi Jayaraman on July 1
CHENNAI, June 21: A collaborative concert titled ``To Sir, With Love’’ is being organised to pay homage to violin maestro Lalgudi G. Jayaraman. The concert will be held on the evening of July 1 at The Music Academy.

The concert will be unique in the sense that it will feature two vocalists, two violinists and two mridangists. Spearheading the collaborative exercise will be senior vocalist Bombay Jayashri, a principal disciple of late Jayaraman. Oscar nominee Jayashri has also scored music for Sri Thyagarajar, a highly-successful Tamil play which featured popular artiste ``TV’’ Varadarajan.

She will be joined in by Abhishek Raghuram, the rising star in the world of Carnatic music. The duo will be assisted on the violin by Embar Kannan and Vittal Ramamurthy. They will be provided percussion support by mridangists Anantha R Krishnan and Ganapathy Ramann. Ojas Adhiya will play the tabla.
