Musical extravaganza begins at Cleveland
CLEVELAND, April 11: The annual Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival has commenced.

The festival is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. The festival will go on till April 23.

This year's festival is dedicated to the memory of Karukurichi P. Arunachalam Pillai, S. Ramanathan, M. Balamuralikrishna and Vellore G. Ramabhadran.

The festival is webcast by iCarnatic. The Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival is, perhaps, the largest Indian classical music festival outside of India. It was first celebrated in 1978. Since then, it has grown to be a 12-day festival. This year is the festival's 40th year.
