Sudha Ragunathan teams up with EFI to launch 'Project Amruthavarshini'
CHENNAI, April 22: Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) has roped in leading Carnatic musician Sudha Ragunathan to promote a unique water conservation programme.

The joint effort is titled "Project Amruthavarshini." It is a joint voluntary effort between EFI and Samudhaaya Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation promoted by the leading lady of Carnatic music world.

The Foundation was launched in 1999. The Foundation is born out of her passion to reach out to society beyond music.

"We, together, will be volunteering towards fresh water pond conservation in culturally-important centres across South India,'' said a release.

EFI is a non-governmental organisation based in Chennai that provides a platform for people to articulate or realize their eco dream.

Tenali, Thiruvaiyaaru, Sringeri, Shivamogga, Kaladi, Ambasamudram and Srisailam are among the culturally-important centres chosen for the `Project Amruthavarshini' initiative.
