Sundaram Finance holds Navarathri Special Kutcheri in the Park
CHENNAI, September 26: As part of the annual ‘Navarathri Special’ Kutcheri in the Park series, Sundaram Finance organised a three-day ‘Mikeless Kutcheri’ between Friday and Sunday (22nd to 24th September) at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. This is the 9 th year in succession that Sundaram Finance has been organizing the ‘Navarathri Special’ Kutcheri in the Park.

On the morning of September 22, 13-year-old Shreya Suresh, a student of PS Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, presented the mikeless kutcheri. Shreya was accompanied on the violin by Swetha Sureshkumar (a disciple of Rajesh Krishna) and on the mirudangam by Sai Srivats Kamath (a disciple of Thanjavur Srinivasan).

On the morning of September 23 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., 13-year-old M Harini, a student of Vaels International School, Injambakkam, presented a vocal Carnatic music performance sans mikes and speakers.

On the final day (24th September), 13-year-old G Raghavender, a student of PSBB KK Nagar, presented the kutcheri in the park. Raghavender was accompanied on the violin B. Sudha (a disciple of Lalgudi Smt S Alamelu) and on the mirudangam by Ajeeth Sridhar (a disciple of Chromepet Shri G. Suresh).

Sundaram Finance has also been organising kutcheri in the park on the first Sunday of every month since February 2007. No mikes and speakers are used at the kutcheri in the park. Over 1,100 children have performed at the kutcheri in the park series.
