Donning Mira, Bombay Jayashri sends audience into trance
Shanthi Kannan - shanthi.thehindu@gmail.com
One of the well written articles. It beautifully describes the musical melody of Bombay Jayashri. An in-depth analysis.

Looks like it was an amazing show! The pictures are awesome, too!

Very intense piece on music, history and people. Loved reading it!

Even though it was a performance of the same show put up some time ago, the way it has been written both times is different because it is a different experience each time. The reviews - the one on last show and the one now on the latest - seem to me to be like Valmiki's and Tulasidas's way of interpreting the Ramayana. I thought the review of the Mira programme a few months ago evoked a sense of bhakti that is apparent in Tulasidas's Ramayana. The experience of reading the latest review was more straight and sublime. Enjoyed reading both. Hope I manage to catch the show next time they perform!

Wow what a write up! What a language for Smt Jayashri. And, what a band of color photos! Everything is superb.
Hats off to the effective photos, the setting comes before me. I found Shri Embar Kannan's name among the artistes. I feel he is one of the most creative artistes among the younger band we have.

Good to know about Bombay Jayashri's concert on Mira. Saw the photos. I would like to know whether I can get the CD of the programme. Is DVD available? I have gone through the article about the programme more than 3 times. You have described each and every song she and her team performed. My best wishes to Bombay Jayashri.
Dance gives a purpose to life, feels Vanishree Ravishankar Ravi Malur - ravisush@vsnl.net
Nice but too short an interview. There are quiet a few points which really make a difference for people who have been shunting the ancient form of Bharathanatyam. The last two questions and answers seem up to the mark and should be put up in a public forum for debate.
Mridangam has made me look inward, says Mannarkoil J. Balaji Thyagarajan - layam344@gmail.com
I have gone through the article written about Mannarkoil Balaji. He is a very good mridangist. He had learnt under Ramdoss, a student of Palghat Mani Iyer. Unless one has dedication and discipline, one cannot become an artiste. Without rhythm, nothing possible. He is a good percussionist and perfectionist. I wish him all the very best

Excellent interview with apt answers by Shri Balaji. We both played together for Shri P. Unnikrishnan in Bangalore about 25years ago. Since then I know him both as a good artiste and a nice friend. He is highly knowlodgeble mridangam artiste, who is much sought after. May God bless him for everything!

Shri Balaji is my good friend for more than 25 years now. We are two of the founder members of the Youth Association for Classical Music, which is celebrating its silver jubilee now. Balaji has indepth knowledge of laya and a wonderful accompanist on mridangam. I love to listen to his mridangam playing as much as his interesting conversations!

Nice article. Wishes to Mannarkoil J Balaji for a bright future.
MS & Ustad Bismillah Khan are my role models, says veena Gayathri Thyagarajan - layam344@gmail.com
I am really proud that Svanubhava III went off very well this year too. The article on veena Gayatri was very touching. Notwithstanding the problem, Gayatri is able to continue to play veena because of her true devotion to music. I have also gone throught the photographs of Svanubhava festival. All the best to each and everyone who took part in the festival.
Bombay Jayashri resurrects Mira in `Bhaire Baanvari’ R. Vijayalakshmi - vijayalakshmi80@gmail.com
I enjoyed the concert very very much.
Sayee Rakshith presents violin recital at Sunday Kutcheri Narasimhan Krishnan - kan2009goa@gmail.com
My whole-hearted appreciation for the splendid work your institution has been doing for bringing out the talent in the youngsters! It is a matter of pride that my friend's son has performed so well and received accolades from the Managing Director of the company! Three cheers to them and happy musical life ahead!
